The Zeigler House Inn Description:
The Zeigler House Inn was originally built in 1856 for Solomon Zeigler, a prominent citizen and lumber merchant. Built in the Italianate style, the house is located in the heart of the famous Historic District on Jones Street (called the most beautiful street in America by Southern Living magazine). Since Solomon Zeigler was a lumber merchant, the house features some of the most beautiful heart pine wood floors of the era. The house also features elegant ceiling medallions, 11 slate and wood fireplaces, and a dramatic heart pine staircase embellished with mahogany and walnut handrail. The inn has off-street parking.
The Inn is ideally located within a short walk to all of the major downtown attractions including: the restaurants of River Street, museums, art galleries, and Forsyth Park. Some of the nearby major historic attractions are the Davenport House, Mercer House, the Owens Thomas House, Factors Walk, the old Cotton Exchange and the Telfair Museum. The Inn is also just a 5 minute walk to the Convention Center and the Visitors Center, the starting point of most of the tour operators..
The Inn was completely renovated in 2002 and has been in operation as a bed and breakfast since 2003. Some of the rooms have whirlpool tubs and private outdoor patios. All of the rooms have king-size beds, private baths, Cable TV, CD Players, mini refrigerators, microwave ovens, toasters and coffee pots. Room prices start at $189 per night and include a continental breakfast. WI-FI is available in all rooms.
