The Zeigler House Inn was originally built in 1856 for Solomon Zeigler, a prominent citizen and lumber merchant. Built in the Italianate style, the house is located in the heart of the famous Historic District on Jones Street (called the most beautiful street in America by Southern Living magazine). Since Solomon Zeigler was a lumber merchant, the house features some of the most beautiful heart pine wood floors of the era. The house also features elegant ceiling medallions, 11 slate and wood fireplaces, and a dramatic heart pine staircase embellished with mahogany and walnut handrail.
