Townley IV Farm, nestled in the rolling hills of Amherst County, Virginia and south of US Route 60, is a working farm engaged in timbering, cattle, horses, and hay making along with bed and breakfast accommodations, conference facilities and wedding functions. Mountain biking, trail walking, horseback riding and fishing are just a few of the many activities to enjoy on the Farm. With over 1,500 acres of beautiful country, Townley IV Farm is a delightful place for couples, families and groups to relax and have fun.
Townley IV Farm is a multi-use working farm of over 1,500 acres. It is located just south of US Route 60 in Amherst County, Virginia approximately two hours west of Richmond, one hour south of Charlottesville, 45 minutes north east of Lynchburg and 20 minutes east of Amherst, Virginia. The Farm is a business entity engaged in timbering, cattle, horses, and hay making along with offering bed and breakfast accommodations. Facilities exist for business meetings and seminars as well as weddings receptions.
For select groups on a prearranged basis, hunting for deer, bobcat, bear, fox, and turkey is allowed. Fishing and camping on Townley IV Island, a 100 acre, one mile long island in the middle of the James River, is offered as a part of the accommodations. No restaurant facility exists on site; however, free coffee, soft drinks and food applicable to the hour are offered.
