Miss Lissia's Bed & Breakfast & Carriage House Description:
From the beginning, the Oak Rose Plantation has been a love story, a home a husband built for his bride. Today it carries on the tradition of romance, providing the perfect setting for wedding or baby showers, bridal teas, garden party teas, or other special occasions. The Carriage House offers a casually elegant place for a truly memorable event. Continuing it's history, the Carriage House re-captures the history of the land, as a buggy horse ranch. It is a modern Victorian-Ranch home, with filled with treasured family heirlooms. The Carriage House showcases " stories from the family plantation," and portraits of the owner's family who were friends with Gen. George Washington, coming to the United States from England in the 1600's.
Enjoy these rooms in the Carriage House for your special event. A warm southern welcome awaits you. The Georgia Room is the dining area and is decorated in soft peach roses, draped in lace and linens and lined with vintage cut glass on display. An elegant chandelier graces the traditional oak dining table. A display of Victorian dolls along with teddy bears ready for tea, are whimsical and welcoming additions.
The Rose Parlor Room is accented with raspberry colored roses and boasts a handmade mantel, cathedral ceiling and antique sideboard adorned in vintage rose china. Victorian ambiance, including antique portraits of the owners ancestors, Rev. Lyles & Miss Martha grace this room.
