The Fitzwilliam Bed and Breakfast Inn Description:
The Fitzwilliam Inn, located in historic Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, houses a full service restaurant, pub and B&B. Since 1796 the Fitzwilliam Inn has attracted visitors to this tranquil, unspoiled region of southern New Hampshire. Recently restored and refurbished, the Inn now marries the charm of the past with the style, comfort and security of today. The Inn currently has six completely renovated guest rooms, each with private bath. A full-service restaurant and pub, both with wood-burning fireplaces and an informal parlor complete the Inn. A mix of local folks and travelers can generally be found in the Pub as well as the restaurant, providing travelers with a good flavor of this small, New England village.
The Inn's main dining room, known as The Great Room, built as a barn in the nineteenth century, shows off the hand-hewn timbers used to construct it, creating a rustic, country atmosphere in which to dine. Fitzwilliam is located just to the west of Mount Monadnock, one of the most climbed mountains in the world and the centerpiece of southwestern New Hampshire's Monadnock Region. Located in historic Fitzwilliam Village, the Inn overlooks a storybook setting. Described by Good Morning America and others as one of the prettiest commons in New England, where antique shops, booksellers, artisan studios and an historic museum may be discovered on foot or by a leisurely drive.
Whether visiting during the scarlet and gold autumn, the crystalline wonderland of winter or the splendor of sunlight and flowers that is New England in spring and summer, one can find pristine nature to explore. Climbing, fishing, swimming, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, bicycling, sailing or just strolling down well-marked trails, one finds an ideal place to escape the pressures of everyday life.
