Other Amenities ...
Deer heads, bear skin rug, caribou and fox pelts combined with the warm woods, leather, fireplaces, mission furniture, and evergreens featured in this turn-of-the century "arts and crafts" home, capture the spirit of Northern Michigan. The Deer Head Inn is one of Mackinaw City's oldest homes, built in 1913. The original owner, Samuel Smith, was a banker, lumber man, hotelier, mayor for 35 years and a Michigan State Legislator. The original hardwood floors, wainscoating, fixtures, fireplace and nine foot ceilings have been preserved. All bedrooms have private, en suite bathrooms, fireplaces, air conditioning and cable television. Each bath has a shower, and some of the baths have an old fashioned claw foot bathtub. Our largest suite has a two-person spa tub. Designer bed linens provide a comfortable setting for relaxation after a long day sightseeing.
