St. Johns House B&B Description:
St. Johns House, in the heart of the old Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville, is a prairie-style house built in 1914 for the Edward E. Cohen family of Cohen Brothers Department Store. One block from the St. Johns River in a distinctive and delightful National Historic District, the residence opened as a traditional Bed and Breakfast in 1992.
Enjoy a slower pace of life at St. Johns House. Spacious rooms, large windows and inviting porches provide informal elegance and comfort. With only three guest rooms, St. Johns House offers a true sense of private residency in a charming neighborhood of large homes and tree-lined streets. City parks, art and antique galleries, unique shopping areas, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, the Riverside YMCA, churches and fine dining are all within walking distance.
The attractions of a major American city are also nearby. Downtown Jacksonville, the Convention Center, Jacksonville Landing, the Riverwalk, Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts (home of the Jacksonville Symphony), Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, and the Sports and Entertainment Complex (proud home of the Jacksonville Jaguars), are minutes away by automobile, as are sites on the southbank. Jacksonville’s beautiful beaches and golf courses are within a twenty mile radius.
Wake up to the glory of a St. Johns River sunrise and enjoy the full breakfast included in our rates. A delightful walking area along the river is only a block away. If invited, our dog Kingsley may even accompany you. Please call to reserve a very special and satisfying stay at St. Johns House B&B.
