Historic Requa Inn Bed and Breakfast Description:
Driving north on Highway 101 through Klamath, in the distance you can see the big white building that is the Historic Requa Inn (pronounced RECK-wah). It’s across the Klamath River on Requa Hill, and it stands out in the landscape because it is the only remaining commercial building in the once-bustling fishing town of Requa, now a quiet residential area. Constructed in 1914, the building is plain, almost utilitarian, built for rustic comfort rather than Victorian stylishness.
The Inn is on Requa Road, less than 100 yards from the banks of the Klamath River (the property includes over 300 feet of river frontage), and it overlooks Redwood National Park. From the living room and dining room, guests have front row seats at an ever-changing natural pageant. Being less than a mile from the ocean, the river rises and falls with the tide. Sunlight and wisps of clouds weave in and out of the towering trees on the other side of the river creating a tapestry of light, shadow and mist. Sea lions and river otters are often seen playing in the estuary waters, and ravens and eagles soar effortlessly overhead. You can spend a pleasant day sitting on the Inn’s front porch or inside at a window doing nothing more than relaxing and watching the world go by.

Every room in the Inn is different, and there is sure to be one that is just right for you. Some have magnificent views of the Klamath River. Many have claw-foot bathtubs and are furnished in antiques. All have wonderfully comfortable beds dressed in crisp white cotton sheets, down pillows and comforters, and quilts. You’ll enjoy the cozy warmth of down even in the summer with a cool ocean breeze drifting through your bedroom window. All rooms are on the second floor of the hotel. Sorry, we do not have an elevator. We do not have roll-away beds, nor do we allow extra people to stay in rooms designed for two.
