Farmhouse B&B Inn & Restaurant Description:
The Farmhouse Inn is located in the very heart of Sonoma County’s World Famous Russian River Valley wine growing region. We are fortunate to count several of California’s oldest and most renowned wineries as our neighbors. Within a stone’s throw, you’ll find such names as Martinelli, (famous for their Zinfandel), Rochioli, Joseph Swan, Korbel and Davis Bynum. The Russian River Wine Road map, available from our innkeeper, will lead you to dozens of other wineries that are only minutes away.
FARM TRAILS
A copy of the Sonoma County Farm Trails map will guide you around to the over 150 small producer properties peppering Sonoma County. From heirloom apples, handmade jams and organic vegetables, to goat’s milk soap, wool and llama ranches, we have it all. Sonoma County supplies fine agricultural products, many of them produced in the timeless manner practiced for generations, all over the United States. Our products are found in the finest dining establishments of Northern California and beyond. You can tour artisan bakeries or cheese makers, taste olive oil, pet a llama or take home a parlor pig (a miniature pot belly) as a gift for that hard to please friend.
REDWOODS
Majestic redwoods abound in Armstrong Woods State Reserve, a 752 acre park. A number of easy trails lead you to the major groves, where the coast redwoods (sequoia sempervirens) tower skyward 300 feet or more. Many of these trees are more than two thousand years old. Horseback riding, biking, picnicking and relaxing are the favorite activities here. There’s also an outdoor theater for lectures and performances.
