Joan and Art Ricker own and operate this
Williamsburg Inn. Art was born and raised in another tourist area, New Hope, PA, while Joan is a native Virginian. Art was vice-president of Marketing & Sales for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for 28 years. He and Joan left the corporate world, in 1996 to build, and operate a 9 room
West Virginia mountain lodge, in a place nobody thought you could build a lodge, let alone make a living from operating one. But it worked, through hard work, good food and their wonderful hospitality, the
Inn was a success.
North Fork Mt
Inn, located at 2600 feet on the North Fork Mountain in the National
Forest about three hours west of
Washington, D.C. This award winning
Inn was named one of the top ten mountain lodges in the mid-Atlantic by
Washington magazine. Major press stories on the
Inn were featured in the Charleston Gazette,
Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, Cincinnati Enquirer, Blue Ridge Magazine, Washingtonian, and many other publications. Our philosophy has always been that we run the
Inn as a business, the
Inn is our full time job and our goal is to offer top notch accommodations, including clean rooms, hot water, comfortable beds and great food including homemade breads and sweets. And genuine
Virginia hospitality. We left the mountains in 2003 and purchased the Legacy, a
Williamsburg Inn with a fine tradition of hospitality since 1982. We plan to continue that fine tradition and continue to add new and exciting features to our
Williamsburg Inn for the enjoyment and pleasure of our guests.
