This 1830s house is set at the foot of the Mount Tom National Park. Enjoy the boutique European style, using mainly organic and locally produced foods, the gourmet freshly cooked breakfasts, our complimentary refreshment station where the kettle is always on and home made cake awaits you, and the friendly informal atmosphere of this beautiful home.
Indulge yourself with fabulous (Vermont made) organic soaps, luxurious bath robes, Turkish cotton towels and organic cotton duvets. Some bathrooms have two tubs and an other lights up! The hosts’ attention to detail ensures fresh flowers and tempting treats in every room. Breakfast at the Woodstocker may include such favourites as homemade muesli; seasonal fruits, local and organic produce whenever possible, a selection of breads with home made marmalade, jams or marmite, served with freshly ground organic coffee and the best of leaf teas. We will gently encourage you to try our pork and maple or pork and fennel sausages with HP sauce, or how about wild smoked salmon, free-range eggs, and traditional British dishes like boiled eggs and soldiers, porridge, or European style back bacon.
Your hosts at the Woodstocker are Dora, David and Stanley. Dora is of Italian extraction and David an Englishman born in Yorkshire. Stanley is a female (non shedding) Wheaten Terrier originally from Tennessee, and currently being schooled to recognize the English accent. Committed foodies we subscribe to the tenants of the Slow Food Movement (SFM) founded in Italy in 1986, which now has associations around the world, including the USA. We are also proud members of the British Sausage Appreciation Society. The Woodstocker charms guests with its simple, unpretentious demeanour, eclectic style and warm welcome. Bring your own favourite slippers or borrow a pair from us for the duration of your stay. You’ll feel right at home.
