The Iron Horse Inn B&B and Cottages Description:
The Iron Horse Inn is an exquisite example of the Craftsman
and Mission architectural style. Don and Diana have taken
every effort to maintain the integrity of the era while melding it
with 21st century living. The McBrides delight in preparing
and serving a full breakfast to their guests each morning and
there will always be beverages and some savory treats
available late afternoon. Guests at the Iron Horse Inn can
also get on the Hike and Bike Trail next door to the Inn and
stroll the two short blocks to Granbury's historic square and
enjoy the many wonderful shops and restaurants.
The historic main house offers two suites and four guest
rooms all with private baths. Guests can choose to relax in
their rooms or visit with other guests in the living room,
browse through the many books in the library, watch the sun
rise or set on the front or back porch, or just sit under the 400
year old live oak in the back yard.
The Guest House is a renovated 60's ranch that includes two
bedrooms, each with private baths. Guests can enjoy
breakfast in the main house, have it delivered to the Guest
House, or cook their own in the Guest House kitchen.
The property has two uniquely different cottages. The one-
story cottage is that very romantic couples hide away.
Includes a native stone fireplace, private patio, original 6 1/2
foot claw foot tub, king bed, dinette and kitchenette.
The two-story dormitory/loft style cottage offers the very
unique setting for that group that wants to talk and laugh into
the morning hours. The second floor houses 4 double beds in
a Pullman Car-style setting. The first floor is a large gathering
room with kitchenette. This is the perfect setting for that
All the rooms at the Iron Horse Inn under went an extensive 7-
month renovation in early 2013 and are beautifully appointed.
Each room has a private bath with exquisitely tiled Roman
showers. All rooms have either a king or queen bed, HDTV,
wifi, sitting areas, make-up vanities, desks, luxury bath linens
and blow dryers.
Come and experience "Where History Meets Hospitality" at
the Iron Horse Inn in Granbury, Texas, where Texas History
Lives. Something's always happening in Granbury! The
surrounding area offers numerous outdoor activities in addition
to the activities on and around the Historic Square. Visitors
can spend the weekend just visiting the many specialty shops
on the square, enjoying the many cafes and restaurants, and
perusing the numerous antique shops.
