The Hunter Road Stagecoach Stop Bed & Breakfast Description:
If your pleasure in traveling is to visit the past, the Old Hunter Road Stagecoach Stop Bed and Breakfast, redolent of early Texas, is the place to stay. Just 3.5 miles from Gruene, and 5 miles from New Braunfels and on the backroad to San Marcos, you will find another era as you pass through the doors of the LogPen Cabin, which was erected in 1848, German Fachwerk house, and the 2 bedroom 2 bath handicap assessable cottage. Lovingly restored, this historic inn will enchant you with its ambiance of warmth, comfort, and style in rooms furnished with primitives befitting the era. Warmly decorated cedar-beamed rooms, fragrant with the scent of herbs, hold a wealth of early Texas antiques including queen walnut canopied iron beds, Lyndon Johnson grandfather cedar post bed, antique rockers and period paintings.
This is the ideal spot for travelers desiring a picturesque landscape in which to enjoy gardens of antique roses, herbs, and native plants. Gourmet breakfasts are served in the fragrant rose garden, on the breezy porches, or in the cozy dining room of the main house. Our entrees include a variety of fresh fruit, homemade breads, eggs, potato pancakes, New Braunfels sausage, or our Speciality: "Belgium Pancakes," served with mounds of whipped cream and strawberries.
The Proprietress, a landscape designer, welcomes you personally to this friendly, relaxed inn which has become a favorite of discriminating travelers who come to the Texas Hill Country seeking comfort, fine cooking, and the charm of yesterday.
