Fairville Bed and Breakfast Inn Description:
The Fairville Inn Bed and Breakfast is the most convenient lodging facility in the heart of the Brandywine Valley. The Inn is minutes from Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, and the Brandywine River Museum. It is also only a short drive to the business district in Wilmington, Delaware. The Main House of the Inn was built around 1837, and is located in the village of Fairville, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Inn has been home to members of many of southern Chester County’s early families, including Mendenhall, Pyle, Trimble, Sharpless and others. James Trimble was a relative of Daniel Defoe, author of Robinson Crusoe. His wife was sister to Ellwood Mendenhall, a prominent figure in the town of Mendenhall.
Surrounded by majestic homes and miles of back roads, the Inn has 15 individually-decorated rooms (including two suites) located in three buildings -- the 1837 Main House, the Carriage House, and the Springhouse. Throughout the Inn, fresh flowers, and elegant country décor create a warm and quiet atmosphere. All guest rooms have a private bathroom, satellite TV, telephone with voice mail, wireless Internet, and individual heating and air conditioning controls. Many rooms have a canopied bed, most have a private deck and a fireplace (in season). The Fairville Inn has been featured in many publications including the New York Times, Southern Living magazine, and Philadelphia magazine.
Enjoy the elegance of our rooms, gardens and meadows!
