Window Views Bed and Breakfast Best Mountain View Description:
Nestled on a quiet mountainside, Window Views Bed and Breakfast affords guests a perfect place to relax and enjoy the ever-changing scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Window Views was built in 1992 by Roy and Martha Barthel and is named for the wall of windows in each room. The windows in the Gathering room encompass a view of Valle Crucis and surrounding mountains. Each window seems to act as a frame for a majestic, constantly changing mural. Though the view from the windows varies with the weather and the seasons, one constant remains: the hospitality of Roy and Martha. Guests can awaken to the scent of freshly baked cinnamon pull-apart coffee cake wafting through the Gathering room toward the bedrooms. In the Gathering room one can enjoy a mug of coffee or tea while watching the sun's rays stealing across the valley a thousand feet below. Complete breakfasts include favorites such as Dad's Apple Pancake, a deliciously light pastry.

In the afternoon, guests will find the perfect way to relax is swinging on the antique porch swing or chatting on the large deck. Not only are there many interesting rock formations to see, the mountainside is also home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife. Rhododendron abound; and, in late spring and early summer, the large pinkish-white blooms are everywhere. For the more adventurous, the cookies make excellent fare to take along for energy while walking on the nearby wooded trails. Quiet walkers can spot deer, grouse, and turkey hiding among the rocks and trees.
While standing on the deck, with Grandfather Mountain to your left, Beech Mountain and Valle Crucis straight ahead and Willow Valley to the right, it is hard to believe that there are also many things to see and do within easy driving distance. For those who enjoy shopping, Shoppes on the Parkway outlet mall is only nine miles away. Many local artists have their work shown in nearby Boone, only five miles away.

Two night minimum summer weekends, holidays and October. Reservations held with Visa or Master Card deposit. Payment by Visa, Master Card, cash and travelers checks. No charge cancellation 5 days prior to reservation.
We offer a non-smoking environment. Enjoy a full breakfast as part of your stay. Minimum stay of 2 nights holidays and October, weekends in July, August, and September.
