Relax and enjoy being at home in the mountains of southern
New Mexico at the highest (7,400 feet) and coolest accommodations in town - Casa del Cocinero Bed & Breakfast
Inn in
Alto, New Mexico. Our
Inn is nestled on two acres of pine, juniper and cedar trees just 2 miles north of Ruidoso. A littler cooler and a little quieter than the village. We are conveniently located minutes away from the area’s ski and recreation area (2 miles north of Ski Run Road), the Spencer Theater for the Performance Arts (half-mile to Airport Road), hundreds of hiking and horseback riding trails in the Lincoln National Forest and White Mountain Wilderness, and serene Bonito Lake.
The home of the Smokey Bear National Monument, Capitan, is 12 miles north of us. A gorgeous 20 mile route east of us, gives you a panoramic view of all the mountains in the area and takes you to the historic town of Lincoln. Here is an exceptionally well preserved remnant of the wild west, where Billy the Kid staged a famous prison escape and the Lincoln County War gained national recognition. Casa del Cocinero features a soft mix of southwestern decorum and Mexican artifact that creates a warm, peaceful atmosphere. We have nine rooms and two guest houses to choose from; each with individual flavor and charm.
Upon arrival, relax after a long day of travel with a glass of complimentary wine or beverage on one of our decks or comfortable common rooms. In the morning, awaken to the tantalizing smells of fresh gourmet coffee and a hearty warm breakfast, uniquely prepared and served by the owners. An abundance of activities await you in the Ruidoso area, and we are happy to assist you with planning your stay. Please refer to the Ruidoso link below to check out the rest of what the area has to offer. On the other hand, you are welcome to simply hang out and relax on our grounds or under the stars in our large outdoor hot tub.
