The Village Inn Description:
FOR OVER 50 YEARS the Hickey family has been welcoming guests to The Village Inn. We believe we are the longest single family owned B&B on all of Cape Cod. The key to our success is simple: A GREAT LOCATION, OLD FASHIONED COMFORT and a DELICIOUS BREAKFAST in a RELAXED, CONGENIAL SETTING at a REASONABLE PRICE.
IMAGINE YOURSELF IN OLD NEW ENGLAND. Sitting on an acre of land, our Colonial style country inn was built shortly after the American Revolution and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally the home of a clipper ship captain, it later became a boarding school for the children of wealthy world travelers.
Part of the charm of the house is the refreshingly simple decor which conveys a sense of what life was like in early America. "AUTHENTIC" and "UNPRETENTIOUS" are words frequently used by guests describing this house. Many return year after year. We have 10 guest rooms. Most large, all comfortable. They can be reserved as single rooms, in some cases as adjoining rooms or even as separate wings. Several common rooms welcome your use. Our large wicker-filled screened porch is a great place to enjoy conversation, cocktails and warm summer nights.
OUR MID-CAPE LOCATION MAKES IT EASY TO EXPLORE FROM PLIMOTH PLANTATION TO PROVINCETOWN. Whale watches, antiques, art galleries, pottery studios, Hyannis, ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, swimming beaches, family fun and much more are all within easy reach. HERE IN THE HISTORICALLY PRESERVED VILLAGE OF YARMOUTH PORT we have peaceful country lanes which lead to beautiful bay views, nature trails and conservation areas. Parnassus Book Store, Hallets Ice Cream Shop and Captain Bangs Hallet House - the subjects of many writings - are just a few of the interesting and historical attractions in the neighborhood. Other fine shops and restaurants are within walking distance as well.
