Savage River Inn Description:
Located in the 53,000 acre Savage River State Forest and just minutes from Deep Creek Lake, the inn was originally a classic farm house built in 1934. It's history dates back to the Revolutionary War when returning soldiers were given 50 acre military lots in the Appalachian Mountains as a bonus by the state of Maryland. The farm house was built on Military lot number 2089, and was part of a working farm until 1970 when it was purchased by the present innkeeper, Ken Bock. In 1992 the house was totally renovated and decorated by his wife Susan who transformed it into a cozy romantic mountain inn.
