Elk Forge opened its doors in October 2000 as a Luxury Bed & Breakfast
Inn. For approximately 200 years, Elk Forge was the center of an industrious community featuring a Forge, Grain Mill, Saw Mill, Textile Mills and Farms covering 1000 acres. It began as the Elk Forge Company prior to the American Revolution and then was purchased by Daniel Lord and was held by his heirs (the Baldwins) until 1981 when it was purchased by the Lendermans.
Harry and LeAnn Lenderman renovated and expanded the existing buildings to become the Elk Forge
Inn and Spa as you see it today. Along with the Gardens, Landscaping and Natural Beauties of the Woods and River, Elk Forge can help transport weary travelers and romantics to a more restful age. Elk Forge is host to many Group Meetings, Family Reunions, Weddings, Retreats and Conferences.
Nestled on five acres of beautiful woods and gardens along the Big Elk Creek, historic Elk Forge has numerous amenities for your comfort & pleasure. We are just north of
Elkton,
Maryland in the now sleepy village of Elk Mills. The area is rich in history and natural beauty and is just 3 miles from I-95, and minutes from Newark and Wilmington, Delaware. Philadelphia and
Baltimore are only an hour away.
