Harbor House Inn Description:
When you stay at Harbor House, our Boothbay Harbor inn, you will experience Boothbay Harbor "The way Maine should be": Relaxed, Quiet, and a Great Value. Each of our guestrooms is spacious and uniquely designed and furnished with a Queen or King Size bed. The wrap-round veranda provides the perfect place to view the harbor, enjoy breakfast, relax with friends after a day of activities and watch the sun set. Our guest dining and sitting rooms provide a warm, homey extension to the privacy of your guest room.
Built in the 1880's by Captain Mitchell Reed, (once skipper of the largest wooden sailing vessel in the world) the Harbor House Inn has a long history of providing accommodations to travelers to the Boothbay Harbor region. Today, the third family to own the house continues the tradition of hospitality and superb guest services. Reports of Capt. Reed's ghost introducing himself to guests have been heard around Boothbay Harbor for many years but so far are largely (but not completely) unsubstantiated. Guests consistently return year after year because of the unique combination of location, hospitality, warmth and value they receive while staying with us at our Boothbay Harbor inn.
Local Attractions:
Guests typically leave their cars in our parking area and take the short walk (down hill both ways) to the many activities to be found in Boothbay Harbor, including shops, restaurants and docks where boat trips are available for whale watching, clambakes and trips to Monhegan Island. Kayaking, nature walks, sailing, fishing and even a few beaches are also in the Boothbay Harbor area. We happily assist in making arrangements for any of these or any other special needs or interests you may have.
