The Aster House, a Victorian home built in 1891, offers an ideal starting point for exploring the city. For necessities, we are one block from a 24-hour grocery, a 24-hour diner, a late-night pharmacy, the post office and the library. Many city attractions are 1- 2 blocks -- theatres, movies, restaurants, cafes, unique shops, music venues, museums, the zoo, tennis courts, the conservatory, day spas, health clubs, the lakefront, DePaul University, three Starbucks. And we are one block from the subway/el, free summer trolley or buses to reach all the rest.
There are three separate units which may be combined for large groups. All are beautifully decorated with 19th century European antiques and fine reproductions and 21st century amenities such as cable and free secured Wifi -- even en-suite front-load washers and dryers.
Elizabeth's Place sleeps up to six. It has a living room, formal diningroom to seat twelve, book-filled study, bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower, television and VCR, washer and dryer, and a large eat-in kitchen with all top-line additions. There are a bedrooms with queen bed, a bedroom with a full bed and two more guesst can sleep on the study's full pullout bed.
Alice's Annex offers a kitchenette, dining nook, book-filled study, livingroom, bath with tub and shower, television and VCR, private entrance and complimentary washer and dryer. With the bedroom's queen bed, living room's queen sleeper sofa, a sleeping nook off the livingroom and a rollaways, this unit can sleep up to six guests.
Kristina's Suite is a private bedroom and private bath with tub & shower, off a large shared kitchen and dining nook. The guest room has a full-sized bed, a desk, a closet, and television. However, we have a declawed cat who comes into THIS SUITE ONLY, so this unit would be only for guests not allergic.
The Aster House is an urban
inn for self-serve rentals, but we do provide 24-hour coffees, teas and biscotti and we're one block from a 24-hour grocery and many many restaurants. We have local chefs available for a meal or cooking class in Elizabeth's Place.
