The Inn's atmosphere is comparable to some of Europe's finest bed and breakfasts and small hotels. Situated on two heavily forested park-like acres midway between The Village and the Snow Summit Ski Area, the Alpenhorn Bed and Breakfast has eight guestrooms. All have private baths with stall showers and separate spa tubs for two, fireplaces, private balconies, 25" televisions and VCRs, phones, spa robes, hair dryers, and king or queen beds (one can be converted to twin beds). We feature hypoallergenic feather beds on firm Sealy Posturepedic mattresses, and Aveda bath products. And to go with our TVs and VCRs, we offer an extensive video library that includes all of the Academy Award winners for Best Picture from 1939 to 2000. Professionally landscaped and maintained, the Alpenhorn's gardens are the most exquisite in all of Big Bear, with over 23,000 square feet of bluegrass, two mountain streams dense with an incredible variety of wild flowers and crossed by log bridges, dotted with Ponderosa Pines, Quaking Aspens, apple, pear, and cherry trees, and surrounded by hundreds of blackberry, raspberry, boysenberry, and strawberry bushes. Other Amenities ... Breakfast consists of fresh breads, seasonal fruit, our homemade Alpine granola, house-blend coffee, fresh hot oatmeal banana brulee, and a hot dish such as coddled eggs, apple pancakes, or Robbie's cheese strata. Other amenities include full concierge and bell services and evening turndown service. Other services available by appointment are massage therapy; private snowboard lessons (winter); private mountain bike lessons (summer); tours of Big Bear Valley, Holcomb Valley (summer), and the scenic south ridge (summer); and guided trail hikes to the most scenic and remote areas of the San Bernardino Mountains (summer).

* In consideration of our guests, there is no smoking indoors, and although we love pets, we are unable to accommodate them in the Inn. * This is really a place to get away from everything, including the children.
