Apple Raisin Baked French Toast1/2 c. butter1c. brown sugar 1 T. water 3 Granny Smith apples 1/2 c. 2 T. vanilla 8 eggs 3 C. milk 1 loaf sourdough bead In a saucepan melt butter, add brown sugar and water stirring until sugar dissolves. Add sliced apples simmer until tender. Pour into a 13X9 pan let cool. Beat eggs, add milk and vanilla. Sprinkle raisins over apple mixture in pan. Cut sourdough bread into 1 inch thick slices, one loaf should make 9 slices. Soak slices in egg mixture then place on top of apple mixture. Pour remaining egg mixture over bread. Cover a refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 for 40 to 60 minutes. Until puffy and browned. |
