Down By The River Bed and Breakfast Description:
Mike and Angie welcome you to their B&B, “The Lodging Hub of Cochise County”. The B&B features 4 themed rooms with a large guest area and is located on The San Pedro River. The San Pedro River Valley is one of the best migratory birding meccas in the US with nearly 400 species migrating through the area. The B&B is perfect for short day trips to historical sites, National Monuments, ghost towns, Tombstone, Bisbee, Kartchner Caverns, wineries, hiking, birding, San Pedro Valley Observatory and a movie studio. The dark night skies are wonderful for stargazing and the B&B has a Dobsonian telescope for your use.
At the end of the day, relax on the porch as the sun sets and watch the flocks of birds as they fly to their roosts for the night in the cottonwoods along the San Pedro River, while the background of Arizona purple and pinks hues reflecting from The Dragoon Mountains grow stronger. Your host, Mike (Bill) and Angie Hug invite you to Southeast Arizona and a unique bed and breakfast experience found only in St. David.
In the morning, wake to fresh coffee and smoothies followed by a full breakfast. Sit back in the leather padded mesquite chairs while you dine at the large handmade mesquite table and enjoy the morning vista of the cottonwoods bordering the San Pedro with Cochise's Stronghold as a backdrop.
Down By The River is a 15 acre property that borders the San Pedro River and is within sight of the northern end of the world famous San Pedro National Riparian Area. The San Pedro, the last free flowing river in Arizona, is one of the best bird areas within the United States. The Santa Fe style home offers views of mountains on all sides. To the east is Cochise's Stronghold, a part of the Dragoon Mountains where the Cochise was buried, to the south is the Huachuca Mountains and the Tombstone Hills, to the west is the Whetstone Mountains, home of Kartchner Caverns State Park.
